Bookworm Bonanza

bookworm bonanza

As mentioned in previous posts, I’m a bit of a book geek. And as such, I’ve collected a lot of bookish visual inspiration. Clearly, I’d rather be reading…

I Heart It

I just discovered a site called We Heart It. Its one of those image bookmarking sites like ffffound but unlike ffffound, anyone can join We Heart It. It’s nicely designed but a little slow.

I’ve had fun filling my page with images that inspire me. Its sort of like keeping a digital bulletin board. See all the images I’ve collected so far.

For the Love of Louisa

Clockwise from top left: Featherbed from Little Cake, Cha Cha Cha for Deco, Rory from Fade to Grey and Merenge from Deco

I am in love with Louisa Harding’s patterns recently. I just scored a copy of her Cardigans book which is a collection of  designs from  previously released booklets. I particularly love the 30s chic Viola, the classic Sabrina, and the dizzyingly textural Kitty. I have knit one Louisa cardigan, the Fitted Cardigan, from her Modern Classics book — and I fussesd and kvetched about the pattern being made in pieces instead of a unified top-down design. Despite the grumbling, my Fitted Cardigan has been my favorite even though it was knit up when I weighed a lot more than I do now. Lesson? Pieced knitting is not necessarily a bad thing.

My love for Louisa doesn’t stop with her cardigans though. I am lusting after several of her recent pattern booklets for accessory patterns too. My favorite booklets at the moment are Little Cake, Deco and her newest, Fade to Grey. I desperately want to knit up the pieces in the photo above so I am going on a mad hunt for these books this weekend. Heck, I might not be able to wait until the weekend!

Let the knitting frenzy continue!

(And no grief that everything pictured is green. Can I help it if I’m consistent?)
