I have a question for you. My daughter spun some wool for me as a gift. It's "beige" to start with (natural fibre, no color). Can I dye it?

Love the counters! Portland's main post office is very 1960's so not much class and elegance there. (The original main P.O. is across the street from it and serves as Federal Building.) Most of the other Post Offices in Portland are fairly modern and boring. My P.O. is a Depression-era building that is fairly non-descript (has a great WPA mural about the Pony Express inside, though.) However, the secret jewel Post Office is Solomon Station, located in an old federal courthouse built in the 1930's. It was used as a P.O. for years but closed down for a while. Then the beloved Pioneer Courthouse was closed after they renovated that building, so they reopened Solomon since it was in close proximity. The interior and exterior are very deco, and the counters reminiscent of those you show us above.

And yay to P.O. Boxes!

I got a card, thanks! The panda was really cute and I like the fancy script for the address. Sometimes you just have to push on thru with projects despite the obstacles. Good job.
