I had seen Harold only in family photos until March of last year, when Dave and I flew to Chicago for a visit. There, we were able to get to know Harold in all his glory. He was a gentleman, allowing Dave to sleep on the couch, hogging up his own prime napping space. He was tolerant from the start at having two "unknowns" in his abode for several days, but I think he warmed up to Dave more so than me. Maybe it was all the hair. I will remember always Harold on Bob's lap, lying on his back, head tilted to the side, getting the belly rub he so richly deserved. He took up Bob's whole lap, and more. I think he had selective memory, like the last time he had looked in the mirror was when he was a fresh faced kitten, all of 16 ounces, still wet behind the ears. In his mind he was still that little bitty kitty. A charming little lad from the start. He will be sorely missed, but he did have a wonderful life, traveling the U.S. with two pretty female companions imported for his pleasure, and two doting, attentive parents who gave in to his every want and need.

dear ones..one can never know the depth of love we feel for our pets until they are suddenly gone from our lives. I know you are grieving deply because the site is so beautiful and so full of love, Both gina and I enjoyed the life of Harold through the pictures. I hope you said a prayer of thanks for the happiness and love this precious kitty gave to both of you. This is one reason Gina is so special to me..she loves her kitties and talks and just watches their every move and enjoys them so much. <edited by me>

I am so sad to hear about Harold. He was such a sweetie. I wanted to post a story about sleeping at your house in Chicago that summer I was there for a work conference and I woke up and Harold was on my foot and I couldn't move him or my foot. He must have been laying there for a long time... my foot was all pins and needles. Maggie and Esther must be lonely!

Am so sorry to hear of Harold's departure to the catnip-lined yonder. As a fellow cat lover, I miss the li'l fur ball for you!
